Sample Wedding Speech for Sister – #1

Hello Everyone! For those of you who don’t know me, I am (your name), the very proud sister of our beautiful, blushing Bride. First and foremost I would like to offer congratulations to the bride and groom, and thank you all  for joining us here on this special day.

Today my sister, (bride’s name), looks so incredibly beautiful – it’s not just the amazing dress and beautiful hair or those great shoes that cost a fortune! – it’s the smile on her face and the love in her eyes that make her glow with a radiant beauty.

I count myself the luckiest girl in the world to have been blessed to have you as my sister for the past ____ years.  We’ve had our ups and downs as all sisters do – but through it all our loving bond has never wavered.  Thank you for showing me the true meaning of the word sister.  She has brought so much joy into my life and I know she will bring that joy into (groom’s name) life as well.

(This is a good point to add a personal memory or two). She is the only person that can make me laugh so hard I cry.

I met (groom’s name) shortly after they started dating, and it was obvious from the start that there was something special about this guy.  You could just tell by the way she lit up when he was around.  I quickly became jealous to share her attention with him!  The jealousy faded when I saw how truly happy he made my sister and I began to look at him more of a brother and not a sister-thief!

I don’t have many embarrassing stories to tell about (groom’s name), but I’m sure I will have some to tell at their first anniversary party!  We all count ourselves lucky to have (groom’s name) as a part of our family now.

When I look at (bride name) and (groom name) together I feel inspired – the love they share for one another is truly beautiful.  They have found their souls match in one another and I know this is the start of a wonderful lifelong adventure together.

Now this is the point in the speech where I’m supposed to offer some fantastic pieces of advice about marriage…so I came up with a short list of things to never do….

Never lose your sense of humor.

Never go to bed angry.

Never stop appreciating one another.

And Never stop saying ‘I love you’.

Remember these things and you will never lose the love you feel for each other at this very moment.

Please join me in a toast to my amazing sister and her wonderful husband:

Take each day as it comes and cherish every moment together.  We all wish you a lifetime of happiness and are honored to share this special day with you.   Here’s to love, laughter, and happily ever after. Cheers!
